The Injured Bird

An injured bird may learn to fly again, but its flight will never touch the sky.

Its limit will never be tested, it will be bound by unfair barriers.

Its wounds may be forgotten or ignored but will never heal completely.

The song of its heart is silent, unspeaking yet screaming aloud its cry of agony and endless pain.

It’s a song of a broken soul, never destined to be whole again.
